10-Year Old Attacked in Brandon Florida
Dogs Severely Attack Young Girl in BrandonBrandon, FL - Deputies say two-mixed breed dogs mauled a 10-year-old girl in the backyard of a Brandon home Wednesday afternoon. Investigators said the girl was visiting friends when the dogs pinned her down and started biting.
"The little girl was, the only way I can describe it, was ravaged by those two dogs," said Hillsborough County animal services investigator Ken Vetzel. "She received multiple lacerations to her head, face, neck and other parts of her body."
Investigators said the dogs' owner no longer wants them and signed them away to animal services. They are likely going to be euthanized. The girl was taken to Tampa General Hospital and is expected to survive the attack.
Vetzel said the dog's owner is a pregnant woman, who started having medical problems after witnessing the attack. An ambulance rushed her to Brandon Regional Hospital, where she was treated and released. She didn't give birth and doctors say she and her baby will be okay.
