Deputy shoots and kills a pitbull in Lamont
Deputy shoots and kills pit bull in LamontLamont, CA - A Kern County Sheriff's deputy was forced to shoot an out of control pit bull yesterday. On Sunday, deputies were alerted to reports of a pit bull attacking and threatening dogs and kids. By the time the deputies reached the scene, the pit bull had already killed another dog.
Deputies tried to contain the dog until animal control arrived, but did not prevail. After a while they found the pit bull in a DiGiorgio orchard and tried to get it under control. The dog then threatened a deputy, prompting the deputy to kill the dog. The sheriff's department is now investigating whether the shooting was within departmental policy.
