Dog Pack Fatally Mauls 32 Goats; Owner Sought
Loose Dog Pack Kills 32 GoatsEl Centro, CA - Authorities have captured two dogs suspected of fatally mauling 32 goats kept inside of a fence. Owner Elias Maravilla found the dogs Sunday morning in his herd of 49 goats. The surviving goats were so severely bitten they had to be put down. A 15-day-old steer, however, managed to escape injury.
A male pit bull and a female German shepherd mix were caught by an animal control officer and will likely be euthanized unless an owner is found. The dogs were not wearing collars. A third dog, also a German shepherd mix, escaped. Authorities are looking for it now.
