Public dangerous dog list in Arlington, TX
Public Dangerous Dog ListArlington, TX - Last Friday, Jarrett Bey's neighbor's pit bulls came through the fence and attacked his dog George. The dog suffered deep chest puncture wounds and had to be put down. The attack is still under investigation and the pit bull could end up on a dangerous dog list.
The City of Arlington has a website (
or rather a large PDF file) that lists where dangerous dogs live in the city. It shows the dog's picture and the reason why the dog is listed.
"It'll say whether they've attacked a human or whether they attacked a domestic animal," said Ray Rentschler, Arlington Animal Services.
Last year there were 103 reports of animal attacks in Arlington. They hope this public list will make dog owners more responsible. There are currently 24 dogs on the list: 10 pit bulls, 5 labs, 3 boxers, 2 rottweilers, 1 chow, 1 akita, 1 shepherd and 1 husky.
Dog owners can appeal but if they lose the appeal, the dogs will be on the dangerous list for the rest of their lives.
