I defintely sense that the public is not buying into the pro-pit rhetoric any more. People are just sick of it...the for-profit breeder lobby is slowly losing it's grip. I think the vast majority of citizens want these dogs regulated. The on-line lobbying these people do, where they circulate pit bull attack stories on pro-pit message boards, then post opinions ad-nauseum about how pit bulls are the nicest dogs on the planet, is being challenged by the silent majority of people who put human safety above dog owners rights.

It is an outrage that cities and towns are threatened by outside lobbyists when they try to pass public safety laws to regulate dangerous dogs. The public should demand that their local officilas stand up to the the breeder lobby and do what is best for it's citizens. If pit bulls are causing a problem in a particular town, then they should be regulated, perhaps even banned. Out-of-state interests, the for-profit breeder lobby, have no right to harass city officials under the guise of being "experts" on dog behavior and law.

Ultimately, it is the local taxpayers who bear the burden of dealing with dangerous dogs, and their rights should come first.

Unfortunately, there is a cycle in which after the local outrage fades and people go back to their lives any movement on the issue ceases.

The Pro-Mauling community, emotionally and financially invested in their dogs, will keep fighting 24/7, like rust eating at society.

That is what happened in our town. The Mayor said "You can make a poodle mean, so it was all in how you raised them". He didn't see the one next door to me. I personally don't care how it got that way. I just care that it was next door. He would be looking at it alot different if there were dogs like that in his neighborhood.

AS A SURVIVER OF A VERY BAD 2 PITBULL ATTACK IN ONTARIO, CA. 6 YEARS AGO. I TOTALLY AGREE THAT PITBULLS SHOULD ALL BE KILLED AND DESTROYED AND OUTLAWED. YOU OWNERS OF PITBULLS GET RID OF THAT PITBULL, OR ELSE KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THOSE IN YOUR FAMILY , COMMUNITY, THEY ARE SO OVERBREED, AND ARE A USELESS BREED OF DOG;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;; OR ELSE IF YOU STILL PROTECT THEM THEN YOU ARE IDIOT........................
