Girl Attacked By Rottweiler; Airlifted to Atlanta Hospital
Owner Charged for Reckless ConductWalton County, GA - In a developing story, police said a chained Rottweiler attacked a 2-year-old girl Tuesday. The girl was injured so badly she was airlifted to an Atlanta hospital.
The owner of a dog that mauled the neighborhood toddler has been charged with reckless conduct. Police said Wilbur Pittman should have done more to control his dog. Pittman’s sister, Penny, disagreed with officials and told news sources:
"This is the chain he’s always been on ever since I’ve been seeing the dog. He’s always been on this chain. You can see how heavy it is and he didn’t break it."
Most people who visit this site understand the danger that a Rottweiler poses to a 2-year old child, and the significantly increased danger it poses when it is chained. In this case, there also appears to be a long history of chaining. DogsBite.org wishes that more dog owners were aware of this.Labels: toddler attack
