Shocking that RCMP rejected the call for help. I don't know of any U.S. jurisdiction that does not launch an emergency response for menacing pit bulls.

I would love to be the attorney examining the RCMP witnesses in front of a jury. (SLAM DUNK!)

I don't believe Animal Control in Knox County, Tn will launch an emergency response for dangerous dogs whether it be pit bull or not. Most of the time they either don't answer the phone or any excuse will do so they don't have to do anything.

Rejecting the Emergency call after this recent incident does seem negligent...

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/british-columbia/story/2007/09/10/bc-pitbull.html?ref=rss

An RCMP officer in Surrey, B.C., shot and killed a pit bull that had threatened to attack a woman who was already being mauled by two of the dogs in her home Sunday afternoon.

Lorie Chortyk, general manager of community relations for the SPCA, said she believed one of the dogs became aggressive and the other two followed because of their "pack mentality."

"Unfortunately with a breed like pit bulls, because they can do so much more harm, sometimes that can have more tragic facts, but certainly any breed can get swept up in a moment like that," she said.
