Leashed Put Bull, Tank, Kills Yoda -- No Warning Before Attack
Classic Pit Bull Behavior Bar Harbor, MI - Establishments that allow dogs are few and far between. Thanks to pit bull owners, this distance will only grow further apart. A few days ago, a little yorkie named Yoda was killed by a pit bull-mix at a pub. Yoda was sitting on her owner’s lap on the patio of the Dog and Pony Tavern when a pit bull/ bull mastiff-mix named Tank entered with owner Jennifer Neuman, 23.
Tank pounced on Yoda and flung her around by the neck. Tank did not growl or express any other indication of violence before the attack, police said. The Dog and Pony Tavern does not serve food, so dogs are permitted. Neuman, who had her dog on a leash at the time of the incident, was charged for keeping a dangerous dog. Yoda died while en-route to a veterinary hospital.
The genetic trait of animal-aggression in pit bulls in unacceptable. Furthermore, say "I" if you think Tank will get returned to its owner.
In other news:Pit Bull Shook Terrier 'Like A Rag Doll' St. Petersburg, FL - In the last week, pit bulls attacking dogs in Florida alone ought to make all dog owners' skin crawl. On June 16th, a team of loose pit bulls "shook" a terrier like a "rag doll" killing the dog. The owner of the terrier was 80-years old. She suffered bites while trying to save her dog. The two pit bulls, Money and Paco had been running loose and were traced to their owner Shermon Britten. We bet Shermon gets his dog-killing pits returned to him as well.
Pit Bull Attacks Collie Inside City Pound Jacksonville, FL - On the same day, a foolish shelter worker placed a collie in the same kennel as a pit bull -- we don't have to spell out what happened. Fortunately, the collie named Tippie was not killed. Jacksonville Animal Care and Control officials ought to read the ASPCA's guideline on "How to House Pit Bulls," which states: "Avoid placing pit bulls directly opposite or adjacent to other dogs," much less placing a pit bull into the same kennel as another dog.
More Pits Killing Dogs in Jacksonville Jacksonville, FL - On June 11th, two roaming pit bulls killed two dogs in Jacksonville. Temeka Kellam, whose dog was killed said she called 911 in the past to no avail. She said that authorities show up and say there's nothing they can do about it. "Now, my dog is dead because the dogs running the streets." Police said the owner of the two pit bulls involved in the attacks could face charges. It's more likely he'll be fined and get his dogs returned to him.
Pit Bulls Kill Chihuahua in Jacksonville Jacksonville, FL - In what appears to involve the same two pit bulls, the other victimized dog was a Chihuahua named Rusty. Ana Morales-Wagner said she and her Chihuahua were walking when her neighbor's two pit bulls slipped under a fence and attacked. Rusty got chewed up badly and did not survive the attack. The owner of the pit bulls, Larry Platts, promised to pay Wagner's medical bills (that is until he learns how much emergency care truly costs).

Re: the murder of the Boston Terrier in Florida. It sure doesn't take the pit nutters long to start making excuses.
The second comment posted by Elijah: "I really feel sorry for the old lady...what a tragic loss. And before everyone jumps on the pitbulls for the attack, I wonder if her little dog instigated the fight at all by barking at the other two dogs."

The only instance that a dog barking at another dog equals certified death or maiming is when one of the two dogs involved is a pit bull! Billions of dogs bark at each other. Only one breed will hear a bark and enter into a death match.

Pit bull owners’ manual, Chapter 2, page 17, 'Defending pit bulls in the press.'
"Always preface public comments with concern and pity for the targets of gameness. Pit bull owners should make an effort to sound sincere as they go about the important business of defending the only breed that matters."

Pit bull owners, from the dog fighters to the drug dealers, to the clueless suburban owners whose dogs attack and kill the neighbors dog....are consistently the perpetrators of animal cruelty.
It is NOT OK to own and breed dogs that want to kill other dogs and domesticated animals. Its obvious that the average owner is not able to manage these dogs well. I would love to see a group of anti-cruelty activists target the owners and breeders of pit bulls for the death and suffering of animals they cause.....from the pit bulls themselves, who too often lead short and brutal lives, to the animal victims of these dogs.
