Las Vegas Salesman Attacked by Four Pit Bulls
 Pit Bull Owner, Also a Sex Offender
Las Vegas, NV - Another brutal dog attack on the streets of Las Vegas leaves a man hospitalized. The owner, 52-year-old Larry James Washington, is a sex offender who failed to register his address with police and is now behind bars. He was issued a citation for the dog attack. He's in jail because he failed to register his new address.The man received a mere citation for a deadly assault -- that's unconscionable. Witnesses to the attack said the pack of dogs terrorized the neighborhood. The four dogs came tearing around the corner, fighting and biting each other before locking on to a door-to-door salesman. "I just saw all this commotion and people were jumping out of they cars to help," said Brinda Anderson. "They had bars and stuff in their hands and they were just swinging it."
Neighbors looked on in horror as the man was attacked by all four dogs. Three of them were pit bulls and the other was a sharpe mix. Witnesses say three of the dogs were scared off, but one latched on like a vice. Luckily, people driving by stopped to help. Erma Wilson watched the whole attack from start to finish. She said they must have "chewed on him for about three to five minutes."A pit bull can snap an adult human bone in half in under 5 seconds. A 3-5 minute attack undoubtedly paralyzed this man for life. The unconscionable injustice bears repeating: This dog owner received a citation for a deadly assault and near destruction of a human being. The dog owner is also a felony offender. It's common sense that felons should be prohibited from owning pit bull types. Instead, Mr. Washington will keep his dogs after this attack and will be free to buy more pit bulls whenever he chooses.

It just blows my mind that this kind of attack only results in a citation. The law is absolutely upside down on this issue! Even a contractor can be jailed under a variety of negligence statutes if scaffolding so much as falls down (even if he's never been on the job site!) but someone's pit bulls can cause great bodily harm and they get the equivalent of a parking ticket? Outrageous!

Sex offender, Larry James Washington, was likely too dense to realize he was a walking cliché.
