One of these instances is to approach a vehicle with a dog inside. This safety rule was taken from a police training video. The raw footage below depicts one of the many dangers an officer faces when he pulls over a vehicle.

Officer: Roll up that window now! 487. I need a medic up here; I just got bit by a pit bull. Go stand in front of my car. Put all your stuff in your trunk. Stand right here in front of my car. [Woman is being handcuffed]. I am taking your dog tonight. Why would you roll down the back window?" Why did you roll down the back window?
Woman: I didn't. I didn't. She put her paw on the back window. I didn't roll the window down.
Officer: You need to get in front of my car now. Do not move! Do not move!
Woman: I swear, I did not do that.
Officer: You think it's funny for assaulting a police officer?

The arrested woman appears to blame the dog for opening the window. She alludes that the dog's paw must have pressed the Window Down button.

Pit Bull Attack Leads to Serious Arrest
Ontario, CN - What started out as a pit bull attack ended in two arrests and the discovery of firearms and over $40,000 worth of narcotics. Police discovered the items after reporting to a dog bite incident. Two women had been attacked by a pit bull huddled under a motorhome. The owners of the motorhome, a 30-year-old man and 21-year-old woman, now face numerous weapons-related charges.

Pair Uses Pit Bull to Rob Man
Omaha, NE - In a city that is contemplating a variety of pit bull restrictions, a man was robbed not at gunpoint, but at pit bullpoint. The Omaha man said the two men who broke into his house didn't threaten him with knives or guns, but a pit bull dog. Police say the two suspects demanded money, and when the victim refused to hand over any cash, one of the men assaulted him.

Brother Shoots Brother Dead Over Dog
Memphis, TN - Police say an argument over a pet dog lead to the shooting death of a Memphis man. Marques Gosa, 30, was arguing with his brother about Gosa’s pet dog when a gun appeared. According to witnesses, the gun went off during the fight, leaving Gosa with a gunshot wound to the chest. According to the Memphis Police Department, no criminal charges will be filed.
