Las Vegas Animal Control Officer Attacked by Three Pit Bulls
Officers En Route Caught in CollisionLas Vegas, NV - An animal control officer was attacked by three pit bulls while calling on a residence. Two officers en route to assist her were held up by a collision. The officer was responding to a call about three loose pit bulls. When she arrived at the scene, she first peered over the fence to view the dogs. But there was a break in the fence and the dogs busted through and attacked her.
In a later article, authorities said she was able to break free from the dogs but not without leaving a bloody trail. Police Officer Mark Hoyt said, "She made it to her vehicle and secluded herself inside to protect herself from the dogs." Before the activated dogs could tear up her vehicle's tires in a misdirected attack, backup arrived. Soon
dozens of police were at the home armed with shotguns and tranquilizers.
At least 24 first responders were called to the scene. The reason can be summed up in two words: rampage and deadly.
Two of the three dogs were tranquilized on the spot. Then all of them were loaded into the van. The pit bull owner piped up that one of the dogs taken was a gift for his
four-year old daughter. The other two were pregnant females he was breeding. The dogs had broken through his fence the day before. He was "coming home to fix it" when he learned his dogs had attacked. Like a good pit bull owner (with no choices left), he had the dogs euthanzied.
He was fined $6,000 bucks.
