Pit Bulls Bust Through Fence; Kill Beagle
Pit Bulls in Evansville Make the News AgainEvansville, IL - After two vicious pit bulls mauled a helpless beagle, they finally got sent to the animal control tank. One resident of the neighborhood said the dogs have been a problem for years. Tuesday Evening, Tom Duff let his dog outside as usual. The pit bulls apparently dug their way out of their owners yard, and into Duff's. In a matter of 15 minutes, his dog Snoopy, was shredded.
Animal control and police were notified numerous times prior to the incident but neighbors say authorities either didn't respond, or took hours to show up. The pit bulls are locked up for now, but still have a chance of going home. Authorities say the pit bulls will be recommended as dangerous dogs to the Animal Control Board. If they are deemed dangerous, the dogs will either be put down, or
rehabilitated.
The video notes that mail delivery for the area had already stopped due to the same dogs. Furthermore, the dog owner's home sits next to an Elementary School. It is quite clear that Evansville authorities have been negligent regarding these dangerous dogs. We can only hope the agency isn't dumb enough to give the dogs back to their owner or try to "rehabilitate" the dogs.

misunderstood dog.
