Felony Charges: Owners of Pit Bulls that Killed Kelly Caldwell Arrested
Authorities Seeking HelpYermo, CA - Last year, on Christmas day,
Kelly Caldwell was savagely attacked and killed by several pit bulls. Her daughter, Rhonda Dugger said that pieces of her body were scattered around the scene and that it looked like her legs had been run over by a car. In August, DNA identified the offending dogs. The dog owners have now been arrested.
Jeffrey Dwayne King, Jr., 23, and John Allan Peterson, 23, of Yermo were arrested in Barstow on September 17 and booked in the Barstow Jail on suspicion of failure to control a mischievous animal, resulting in death, a felony. The pit bull owners are scheduled for an arraignment Friday. Authorities are still seeking information about the fatal attack.
