Pit Bull Owner Blames Attack on "Made Up" Pit Bull
Owner Admits to LyingSheboygan, WI - A woman who told police a strange pit bull attacked her last week has admitted she was bitten by her own dog, according to the Sheboygan Police Department. Tamra Bolle, 26, initially told police that a tan-colored pit bull bit her three times as she was out walking on the night of Sept. 16, but she now says one of her own three pit bulls is responsible.
Since the report, police had asked for the public’s help locating the dog and investigated at least
15 to 20 reports of dogs that matched Bolle’s description. Bolle, who was treated at the hospital for bites to her right leg, had claimed the dog ran off with its owner in pursuit after the attack. "There was a lot of time and effort expended looking for that dog," Lt. Tim Eirich said.
Bolle will be referred for a potential charge of obstructing an officer and has been cited for failure to comply with an animal quarantine. Eirich added that her dog will now be quarantined and must be cleared by a veterinarian. Bolle told police she made up the story because she was afraid her three dogs -- which she recently purchased -- would be taken away. She is in jail on a probation hold.
Presumably, she will get to keep these dogs.
