911 Tape Released Las Vegas, NE - The video that depicts the 911 call between the grandmother and the dispatcher has been uploaded to YouTube. The images and voices are disturbing. The 4-month old child was taken from her stroller and violently killed by a pit bull. The dog belonged to the mother's boyfriend. Upon arrival, police shot two pit bulls. Only one dog is thought to be responsible for the violence.
Dispatcher: "What is your address? Where are you at? Is she conscious at all?" Grandmother: "No, she is dead." Dispatcher: "Can you put him outside or something where he is not going to hurt anybody else? Grandmother: "No, he has bitten my hands." Dispatcher: "Where?" Grandmother: "He has bitten on my hands and my arms." Dispatcher: "You are all bit up too?" Grandmother: "He is running around the living room with the other one. There are two of them. I can hear sirens, would that be them?" Dispatcher: "That is them." Grandmother: "Oh, god."

And of course the typical reaction to a new child in the home with a dog is for the dog to KILL the child. These types of infant deaths indeed occur with other dog breeds. I think the kickers in this case are: busting through the screen door; then busting through a secondary door (grandmother tried to escape with the child); then the COUNCELING for first responders. This was a horribly violent attack that spread across several rooms.
