In late October, Randy Travis, of Fox 5 News (WAGA), broke the scandal involving the Fulton County Animal Shelter in Georgia. The I-Team investigation found the new shelter director, Jere Alexander, making questionable decisions regarding shelter pit bulls and her own. By November 18th, the scandal escalated to include strong links into the world of dogfighting. (03/14/09) Fulton County makes it illegal to chain dogs

Fulton joined Cobb, DeKalb, Gwinnett and other counties when it recently passed legislation making it illegal to put a dog on a “chain, rope, leash, tie out, or wire designed to restrain an animal,” according to the resolution.
