Neighbor's Pit Bull Kills Blind Woman's Pets Inside Her Home
Deadly Home Invasion Attack Orlando, FL - An 81-year-old blind woman was home alone when a pit bull ran into her house and attacked her pets. The pit bull killed her dog and cat. The animal dug a hole underneath her fence to get into the backyard. The woman was letting her dogs inside, but she didn't realize that the pit bull ran in behind them until it was too late.
For seven years, Irene Hults' little black Chihuahua Bebe kept her company. "I opened the door and my little Chihuahuas came in first," said Hults. She is legally blind, so she had no idea a neighbor's pit bull had ran in right behind the little ones. "He jumped up on me, thinking I could protect my little dog. When it did, I just let him go. That's when he got him," she said.
The pit bull attacked Bebe first and Irene said she could hear growling all around her. Her Siamese cat Tiny was crying and, moments later, Bebe and Tiny were dead. Tippy, her niece's dog, was also mauled. "It was terrible. It was awful to go through," Hults said. Orange County Animal Services took the pit bull into custody and launched a dangerous dog investigation.
The pit bull, named Diamond, lives at a home down the street. Animal Services has deemed the dog "friendly to people." According to the news article, two options remain: Animal Services can determine that the dog is "dangerous" and return it to its owner so that it can attack and kill more pets and possibly attack a human being, or the dog can be put to sleep.
Animal-aggression is unacceptable.
Pit bulls were selectively bred to attack and kill animals. As depicted here, and in other stories at DogsBite.org, pit bulls will chew through woods slats, enter into dog doors and bust through screen doors -- of other people's homes -- in order to reach their victim, which is frequently the family's dog or cat. In order to stop the attack, the victimized pet owner often intervenes and suffers injury as well.

Again, it's the high prey drive that pit bulls have.
Nearly every pit bull that has killed or mauled a person STARTED by aggressive behavior towards others pets and attacks.
Children and small elderly people are perceived as prey in the same way.
Also, a dog that is aggressive to other dogs will inevitably hurt or kill a person who gets in the middle of that attack to try to save their pets.
The dog fighters and breeders want to make it ok for pit bulls to be aggressive to other pets, so they can keep breeding for fighting.
Sadly too many Animal Control officials get tricked into defending the behavior of these dogs by these breeders and their lobbies.
