Pit Bull Tasered On School Grounds
Authorities Act FastPeshastin, WA - A pit bull was tasered after refusing to leave school grounds at Peshastin-Dryden Elementary School and bearing its teeth at a Sheriff’s deputy. A school employee first tried to chase off the dog, until Cpt. John Wisemore took over the effort, said Sgt. Randy Foltz. The dog responded by bearing its teeth and posturing for an attack. "At the time the dog was becoming aggressive, kids were coming out of the school," Foltz said.
"He was concerned that the dog might bite a child."
The dog was shot once with a Taser gun, laid stunned for a moment and then ran away, Foltz said. The dog was later taken to a veterinarian for Taser prong removal, Foltz said. The dog had apparently escaped from a nearby yard. According to Flotz, the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society is investigating whether to cite the owner for "dog at large." We imagine this dog will escape from this yard again.
