A big problem is that "animal behaviorist" is a useless term. There are no real experts in animal behavior, only people with vague opinions.

Even people who consider themselves "animal behaviorists" can't agree on excactly what constititues aggression or danger. They have no clue! They argue with each other all the time on even the simplest aspects of behavior.

An added problem is when a pseudo "animal behaviorist" uses this vague term to hide ulterior motives. Such as being a dog breeder, and trying to protect breeders or expensive breeding stock. Or being one of the no kill fanatics who think that aggressive dogs should get adopted out.

The biggest problem is a judge who is letting him or her self get manipulated by these fake experts and special interests, and is goaded into allowing dangerous dogs to be released to kill and maul again.

There needs to be public exposure of these judges. Their ignorance is endangering many.

And there have too many cases where the judge has allowed a pit bull to be "shuffled" or returned to owner, and the dog MAULS AGAIN.

There needs to be accountability.

" She called me because at the time when we worked with her, I was involved with the "other" place and she needs to recommend a rescue to take one of the dogs in."

A "bahaviorist" who is colluding with breeders or fanatics to hide aggressive dogs and release them to another community to kill needs to be exposed.

And they should be sued.

If I'm reading this correctly, the dog is only 5 months old. That means at 5 months the dog has already mauled someone and is considered very dominant. A mauling, dominant puppy. What happens when this dog matures?

One free bite is now one free kill?

Human life seems to be worthless in the United States. When a pit bull that participated in the slaughter of an elderly man has a chance of not being put down. What is wrong with these people? We are talking about a D-O-G! Did the Judge get to view pictures of this poor man's injuries? Why is a dog valued more highly than the good probability of another person being mauled? This seems criminal to me--- what will it take to expose and sue this behavorist?

Sounds a lot like the Catholic Church!

"A big problem is that "animal behaviorist" is a useless term. There are no real experts in animal behavior, only people with vague opinions."

And becoming more useless all of the time. The pit nutters all seem to be flocking to get their "certificates" in dog training or dog behavior so that they can flood public opinion with "expert" advice.

Ask yourself, which came first, the dog trainer/aggression expert or the pit bull owner?

Any other breed community would be horrified by this dog's conduct and ensure that it was culled from the genepool..Instead, the pit nutters are acting like the Catholic Church schuffling around pedophiles..... And then they complain about a Bad Rap"!

No david, there are pit bulls, its just no one is qualified to identify them. Except if they are on Verizon commercials.

Yes, it's true pit bulls are dangerous and its up to the owner's to control their dogs. Unfortunately, so many are bred and are owned by people that do not take them seriously. I have studied the pit bull because I own one. However, no matter how much training they go through they are still unpredictable.

Owner's should have ONLY one, because they run in packs and keep them under control at all times. And NEVER trust them around strangers and everyone would live in a safer place. These dogs should also NEVER be left in the backyard or on a chain.
