Jaydin Embry: One Year After Pit Bull-Mix Tears Off Scalp



Thanksgiving Day Attack 2007
Witchita, KS - Last Thanksgiving, a friend's pit bull-mix attacked Jaydin Embry as his mom got ready to make the holiday meal. The dog ripped off part of his scalp and bit two of her fingers, causing nerve damage. His mom, Cassie Denhaese, said, "He jumped on him and within the time it took me to grab him, the dog had already bitten him three times and pulled off his scalp." Cassie punched and kicked the dog, even sprayed him with mace. The dog finally let go.

Last December we reported that Jaydin's medical bills may stretch into the one million dollar range. At the time, several businesses and the Wichita Patrol East bureau adopted Jaydin and his family for Christmas. Over the course of the past year, Jaydin has undergone four surgeries, including a few skin grafts to mend the bite on his scalp. The doctors are waiting to see if the hair around Jaydin's scar starts to grow in. If it doesn't, he will have to undergo another surgery.

Cassie said, "He doesn't remember it. Only person who does is me." After the attack, Cassie's friend had the pit bull boxer-mix put down.

My great nephews, dad, was showing pictures at our family dinner that included pictures of a pit bull he had just gotten. When I made note of it, he said more people die of smoking and car wrecks than pit bull attacks. I guess he thought that sounded intellegent.

The smoking/car wreck is standard rhetoric from the pit bull lobby. If the car is found defective, the manufacturer can be sued for millions. Heck, they even sued the daylights out of the tobacco industry. That dad will have no one to sue if his dog goes berserk. He'll just have to live with the fact that a kid is dead or severely mauled because of his stupidity.

Remind that dad that when his dog bites someone, or even knocks them down, or just about anything, he will end up in court for years getting sued and may lose anything

He may even get charged with a crime

No pit bull is worth that.

Once again, the author of the artical failed to research how the "friend" was owning up to the financial responsibility for Jaydin's medical bills.

A million dollar medical bill to heal your son's life after a pit bull attack. Parents please take note.

When the inlaw starts showing off pictures of his new pit bull at the dinner table, maybe you could suggest he try Viagra instead. Seriously.

Also mention that he will likely be unable to get or keep his homeowners insurance policy if his agent finds out. Or if he rents, he may very likely be evicted.

Too bad the family didn't give him a ration of **** at the dinner table for aquiring a dog most often owned by criminals, drug dealers, and losers. Until parents and grandparents start stepping up and refusing to visit friends and family members who insist on owning these child-maulers, men will continue to try and prove their manhood by owning these dogs.
