Grandmother Brings Home Stray Pit BullApopka, FL - A pit bull bit 2-year-old Kileah Nguyen, piercing her neck and ear. Nguyen and her family were eating dinner when she went over to pet the dog. Nicole Platt, the child's grandmother, thought the dog was abandoned and brought it home. "I thought I was doing a good thing," said Platt. Doctors will decide next week if she needs plastic surgery or if her hearing has been affected.
DogsBite.org strongly recommends that you do not bring home a stray or abandoned dog, particularly if it is a pit bull.
A
separate article, describes Platt's feelings further. "They said if [the dog] would've gone an inch lower he would've gotten her jugular vein,” Platt said. "Then there would've been nothing we could've done, guilt there's no words to explain." Personal guilt does not inspire education in others. We ask that Platt shares her experience with as many people as she can.
