"Question, why does Wendy Blevins not have insurance to pay for this? Not that it's her fault that her daughter was attacked, but if the attack happened to me, insurance would cover it. Why is she apparently uninsured?"
WHAT WOULD YOU EXPECT FROM A POPULATION OF IGNORANT, UNEDUCATED, INBRED, WHITE TRASH HILLBILLIES AND PSYCHOPATHS?

Pit bull fanciers consistently prove to be callous beyond belief. Absolutely no remorse for the pain and suffering of victims and survivors. No financial accountability. No humanity. Just the same breed specific excuses...

The pit bull community that makes these comments are crude insensitive people. They are sad people relating more to a damaged dog breed whose only purpose is to kill and fight other dogs. This is a beautiful picture of a mother's love. This is what love looks like pit bull advocates. I'm sorry for you.

Pit bull owners DO NOT believe their mantra, "Punish the Deed!" In many instances, they fully blame the victim for the attack. In this instance, they blame the victim (inaccurately) of not having health insurance and thus being unable to afford medical treatment after someone else's dog inflicted a violent attack upon them.
The possible sociopathic and certainly narcissistic commenter is wholly representative of the zealot pit bull community. It's not the pit bull's fault, it's not the pit bull owner's fault, it's the fault of the person maimed for potentially not having PIT BULL LIABILITY INSURANCE!
Swift action from a 9mm might have prevented serious injury to the child in this attack. A 9mm is much less expensive than PIT BULL LIABILITY INSURANCE and, or personal health coverage. A 9mm might have also alleviated the need for this child to have a tube stuck out of its head.

The REAL question should be:
WHY IS TINA UNINSURED?
by
12/18/2008 10:33 PM | Flag as abusive
It's always the same with pit bull advocates; the victim gets the blame, somehow.
A woman scoops her dog up but is severely injured by the pit bull. The pit advocate asks, "What kind of an idiot gets in the middle of a dog fight?"
A woman doesn't scoop up her dog and the dog is killed. The pit advocate asks, "Why didn't she just scoop up her dog and save it?!!!"
Or the victim didn't react appropriately to a menacing pit bull. Or the victim panicked and screamed during an attack. Or the victim ran from a pit bull.
Or, the victim didn't run, but COULD HAVE!
So, why would a pit advocate question the insurance status of victims? Because of the RANK F**KING STUPIDITY you’d expect from A POPULATION OF IGNORANT, UNEDUCATED, INBRED, WHITE TRASH HILLBILLIES AND PSYCHOPATHS!
(I concur, Ernie.)

One has to wonder if the commenter even realized that he or she was blaming the victim. So second nature is it TO ATTACK and question victims by these zealots, so desperately do they try to AVERT attention away from the devastating injury and reality of a pit bull attack, that their blind to their own ridiculous accusations. In opposition to the EXPANDING universe, they operate in a constantly SHRINKING universe that limits their ability to SEE.
It's always very scary when people "don't know" what they don't know.

People are like their dogs.
Pitters attack without thinking, and are provoked by a feather in the breeze.

There's a lot of ideas about what a "hero" is. Perhaps the term is thrown around too much. But who comes to mind when nurses, medics, firefighters and police think of a hero? Wendy Blevins!
God bless you and your beautiful daughter Wendy! I wish you were never in this story but we wouldn't have known you and we need heros too!

The video of Charlotte's Crusade is a masterpiece -- a masterpiece being defined as from whatever angle you view it from, the art moves you in powerful ways that you otherwise could not imagine.
Upon viewing Charlotte's Crusade, you will not be the same person. You will be a person with more depth, compassion and understanding of LOVE than which you have previously known.

If the attack had "Happened to ME" -- AKA LION TAMER and perfectly responsible pit bull owner -- "I would have had insurance..."
Wendy Blevins did have insurance! Wendy still pays and pays and pays. The judgment proof pit bull owner pays NOTHING.
Even if in the end the Blevins have to pay 1/3 of final costs (because their medical insurance picks up 2/3rds of cost), that's still $40 grand! And then some!

O dear, if she's in jail who is going to train little Duke to attack children?

I have noticed that a lot of pit owners place very little value on human life. Their argument is, basically, that a few dead kids is a worthwhile price to pay for the privilege of owning whatever dog they want, with no restrictions.
I was a member of one on-line community of dog owners for a while, but I left because of the hostility of some of the pit owners, and other pit "supporters", when discussing dog attacks. It was shocking to hear the complete lack of compassion these people have for victims, especially children. There were a few female members who were childless adults (by choice or design, I'm not sure). But they clearly hated children, and tended to blame them for dog attacks. I'm not sure how to clasify these people, they are not classic sociopaths, because they LOVE their dogs....they simply hate people, and feel that a human life is worth the same, or less, than an animals life.

anonymous, I have seen the same on pet forums. You either agree with the pit nutters or you are an evil dog hater. Pit bull attacks can not be discussed there because pit bull owners feel it is offensive to them as it negatively portrays their dog. These same people post attack stories of other breeds. And most are childless women who do seem to feel that all children need to be taught first and foremost how to interact with a dog as thier most important life skill. Their lack of patience and understanding is simply amazing.

Know what kind of a person leaves a comment like that?
A DOG BREEDER, who does not want to pay for the harm their dogs do, because it eats into their PROFITS
The breeder industry is at probably the most despicably disgusting level it has ever been
Ernie, I respecfully disagree:) Indeed your characterization fits many of these pit bull people to a T, but college-educated AKC breeders say exactly the same thing- BLAME THE VICTIM

Does this photograph of Wendy Blevins and her mauled child remind you of similar photos of women in war zones comforting their hurt children?
Pit bulls are like bombs in our communities.
This IS war against the breeders, dog fighters, and No Kill wackos in the fight to make our communities safe

ARE THEY STILL BREEDING?!
