Pair of Pit Bulls Attack Molalla Man Christmas Morning

Dogs Will Be Euthanized
UPDATE 12/30/08: The two dogs suspected in a Christmas attack on Christopher Friesen will be euthanized. A resident spotted the dogs days after the attack, trapped (or dumped) inside the building foundation of a former lumber mill. The dogs were described as highly aggressive. Authorities are now calling the dogs American Bully-mixes, which is a modern breed line derived by breeding the American Pit Bull Terrier to the American Staffordshire terrier.
In plain English, the attacking dogs were pit bulls.
Several well-known bloodlines for the American (Bully) Pit Bull Terrier are the Gotti line, Razor's Edge and the Blue line. The American (Bully) Pit Bull Terrier is not recognized by the ACK or UKC. They appear to be recognized only by the American Bully Kennel Club.

12/26/08: Pit Bulls Quarantined
Authorities say they have found and quarantined two pit bulls suspected of attacking a Molalla man on Christmas morning. The Molalla Police Department said 21-year-old Christopher Friesen suffered punctures, abrasions and other injuries when the dogs attacked him after he left a friend's house. Police say doctors believed a smaller person could have been killed by the attack. Clackamas County Dog Services is holding the pit bulls.

12/25/08: "Life Threatening" Injuries
Molalla, OR - Another violent pit bull attack has occurred in Clackamas County, Oregon. In the city of Molalla, just 25 miles south of Happy Valley, two pit bulls assaulted a man as he walked home from a friend's house Christmas morning. Neighbors fought the dogs off with a shovel and called police after hearing the man's cries for help. Police had still not located the dogs as of 1:30 p.m. Reserve officers were activated to help in a neighborhood-by-neighborhood canvassing effort to located the dogs.

Chris Friesen Attacked by Pit Bulls on Christmas
"Christopher Friesen, 21, was treated for puncture, abrasion and crushing injuries, according to Molalla police. He was treated at the scene and later at a hospital. Police say the attending physician considered Friesen's injuries life threatening and speculated that a smaller person could have been killed by the attack. Friesen told police he didn't see the dogs until they were about 10 feet away. The larger grey dog was first to attack, and then a second brownish dog joined in. Friesen was taken to the ground by the dogs..."

"Charles and Ann Monnier told police that they heard the screams for help from inside their house. Chuck went to the window and saw Friesen in trouble, so he grabbed a shovel and went outside, yelling and swinging the shovel at the dogs. The dogs released their grasps on Friesen but did not immediately leave the area. Chuck continued to yell and swing the shovel as the dogs challenged him. Eventually the dogs left the area. While Chuck was swinging the shovel, his Wife Ann was doing her part by calling 911."
Molalla residents are encouraged to call 911 if they see any dogs that match the description and to consider the dogs extremely dangerous.

There have been 5 fatal maulings in the month of December since 2006. Pit bulls have been responsible for 100% of them. Pit bulls, do not have an off-season.

LONGVIEW, Wash. -- A man is asking for the public's help finding a dognapper who he said stole five purebred pit bull puppies worth hundreds of dollars on New Year's Day. Bobby Clegg said he fears the puppies may not be safe and wants them brought back home. Clegg said someone came into his back yard in Longview on New Year's morning and stole five puppies from the pen.

Unbelievable "name calling" scam. These people will stop at nothing.

Initially identified as pit bulls, the dogs are now described as American bully mixed breeds, half Staffordshire bull terrier and possibly half American bulldog.
