Camera Catches Pit Bull Attack on Bichon Near Fort Collins
Community Support UPDATE 04/14/09: The video clip that showed the dark truck has been removed from the Coloradoan website. After searching through more surveillance recordings, the victim, Jacqueline Harris, now thinks it's likely that the pit bulls' owners drive either a tan sedan that looks like a Ford Taurus or a white sedan that looks like a Nissan Maxima. "We are definitely still looking for community support with the investigation," Harris said.
04/13/09: New Video Shows Dark Truck A new security video provided to the Coloradoan by Ralph Campana, who owns Venetian Granite at the office park, shows a truck leaving the park about two hours after the attack. Campana, who said he's seen the men with the pit bulls at the complex before, believes the truck -- which appears to be a Toyota with a camper shell -- is their vehicle. Capt. Bill Porter said he hopes the video will help identify the owner of the pit bulls.
04/12/09: Pit Bull Owners Flee Scene Fort Collins, CO - A woman and her bichon frise dog are recovering after being bit by a pit bull at an office park just east of Fort Collins. A surveillance camera captured the attack. It shows two pit bulls chasing a small, white dog before one of the pit bulls catches it. The owner of the bichon frise, Jacqueline Harris, can be seen rushing to help her 3-year-old dog, Louie. One of the pit bulls appears to bite Harris' arm and briefly drag her before releasing her.
Harris later told reporters, "I was bleeding and I thought my thumb was gone." With her thumb covered in blood, Harris said she went to find Louie (who had fled) and asked the two men if they could take her to the hospital. The two men, and presumed pit bull owners agreed, but then they left without her. The Larimer Humane Society is investigating, but would only say that the dog that bit Harris and Louie is likely to be put under quarantine.

"Gabe Quinones said his wife Ellen was walking their dog Spike at the corner of Griggs Avenue and Button Road at about 5 p.m. Thursday. A unknown pit bull, who was loose, lunged at Ellen and Spike...Despite undergoing surgery, Spike died Friday morning. "He was just way too battered," Quinones said."

The news story didn't address the medical requirements of "Dine and Dashing" incidents ...Is this brave woman looking at rabies shots on to of the medical and vet bills now?!
Leaving the scene of a dog bite incident needs to be a felony.
by Anonymous4/13/2009 5:34 PM | Flag as abusive Just once, JUST ONCE, I would love to see these pit owning scum bags, pay for what their dogs do. I'm sure these guys laughed all the way home in their truck. I would LOVE to see someone beat the living sh*t out of these two guys.
Men who own pits are impotent cowards, every last one of them. They whine like little girls when they get caught with their toddler mauling, dog killers, that "they had no idea" their pit bull could hurt anyone. Bullsh*t.

Of course, Mr. Limp Twig Pit-tard was useless, and needed a little girl to jump in and take care of business.
I hope they catch these pit bull owning imbeciles! (Hmmm... "imbecile" and "pit bull owning" sounds redundant.)
