Those officials have blood on their hands. I hope they catch the owner. More importantly, I hope the victim sues every council member that voted to table the regulations that would have prevented this attack. They are directly responsible.

Is there anybody in this country who really believes that pit bulls are not the most dangerous companion animal out there?

Really? C'mon Indianapolis, you have the ability to reduce and possibly eliminate attacks just like this. Anybody who has actually owned or spent time with a pit bull knows exactly what I'm saying. Ex: look at what happened to the Rottweiler despite being a muscular dog, the Rottie is no match for pits...

How many cities are going to allow this to continue? Bans work. See Council Bluffs, Iowa, a city which has eliminated pit bull attacks within 3 years of banning this devil dog. Animal Control agencies who continue to ignore reality ought to be ashamed of themselves.

As a prosecutor and friend of a pit bull breed, http://www.bigredkennels.com, I am intimately acquainted with this issue. Enough already. I would challenge any pit bull fan to a debate, anytime, anywhere, including Cesar Milan and Ledy Van Kavage, CHAKO, etc.

The rottweiler had to be euthanized due to the extensive injuries inflicted by the fighting dogs.

They are calling the rottie a "hero" dog, and it may be. But that rottweiler did NOT understand it was entering into a battle with 3 "canine warriors" either. Notice that the people did NOT get involved, they sent the dog out instead of themselves...

Meanwhile we have Doug Rae working not for the people of Indianapolis, but for Nathan Winograd and the pit bull breeders.

If you have any doubt that Nathan Winograd is working with the pit bull breeders look at this blog entry. He is pre-releasing his diatribes and propaganda to pit bull breeder forums. (Not to mention that the ADBA helped sponsor his last "conference")

I actually have a friend who owns a Rottie from a good breeder; she participates in AKC performance events. She hates pit bulls, and thinks they are a junk breed. Even the Rottie people recognize pit bulls and their "breeders" for what they are...criminals and liars.

I'm just glad the Rottie was there or this would have been another fatality. Bless his heart.

"Paging Bob Lutz and Indy Pit Crew....Clean up on Aisle Three Again!!"

The surviving Pits should be placed in a home next door to Bob Lutz.

JUNE 16, 2009 -- Another Indy pit bull shot: "Pit bull killed after scaring neighborhood"
---
"An Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer shot and killed a menacing pit bull Sunday on the Eastside, police said.

The incident was reported about 11 a.m. in a residential area in the 2300 block of North Rural Street, according to a printed report. A woman told an officer about a large yellow pit bull that was chasing people and trying to climb a fence to get to her in her yard.

Police first blocked the dog's path with a patrol car. The dog charged at another man, then headed toward the police officer, who pulled a canister of tear gas and sprayed the dog in the face. But the animal ran into another yard.

The dog then ran at another resident, forcing him to flee into his house. When the dog charged again at the police officer, the officer took his Remington shotgun and fired two rounds into the animal, killing it."
