Act Now - House Committee at Impasse

August 7, 2012

Things often change on a dime leading up to a Special Session. We have news.

Currently, we understand that the House Judiciary Committee is at an impasse; they not only want to kill the Court's ruling they want to kill the strict liability bill, which is set to be introduced by the Pit Bull Task Force in the next several days. The opposition is coming from the House Judiciary Committee and these members need to be informed by Supporters of the Court that they must eliminate the One Bite rule and move Maryland into a modern strict liability state for dog bite victims.

A hearing for the House Judiciary Committee, apparently scheduled for Thursday, is not scheduled due to this current impasse.

Please write if you can and let House Judiciary Committee members know that One Free Mauling is unacceptable to the general public. Today's era is "personal responsibility for all" and that includes dog owners when their dog attacks.
